Swati’s birthday party was a surprise event planned by her husband and three daughters. The party theme was “Drop-Dead Scarlet Red,” with beautiful Sonia Velvet roses and dancing crimson orchids to complement the rich burgundy of our custom-made, silk dupioni linens.
After appetites were sharpened by seven eclectic varieties of globally-themed hors d’oeuvres, dinner was served under a great tent on the crisply manicured lawn. Surf and turf was the main fare at this evening feast, with offerings of Lemongrass-Crusted New Zealand Lamb Chops and Burmese Halibut Curry – the latter a recipe of Irene Khin Wong’s aunt, Daw Lay. Entertainment and festive music ensued into the night, choreographed with professional Banjara dancers.
